Hi, I have setup dropbox on the mac and inside my VM Windows 7. I would like to use a single local dpbx, so tried setting the VM path to the dropbox created by the mac (in the home folder - which i guess is the shared folder). It does not allow it reporting that it is a networked drive. How can I use a single dropbox location? A simple explanation would be appreciated as I am new to parallels (and mac)! Thanks, Justin
You could use the dropbox folder, and dropbox install, running from your Mac. Install Dropbox on your Mac, it will put a Dropbox folder in your Mac's home directory. Then if you share your mac home folder with your windows VM in Parallels this makes a mapped drive in Windows to you mac home folder. From there, you could put anything in the Mac's dropbox folder via that method, it would get sync'd and you don't have to mess with multiple dropbox installs, and the space that entails. I use this method all of the time within my VM's. The only time it does not work (you would still have access, just not able to snyc till the Mac OS is running) is in a bootcamp type scenario, then you would need a local install to the VM if you need that sync in bootcamp.
