Hello, I was wondering what is the normal size of memory for xp or vista virtual machines. I remember with Virtual Pc it was better to limit it to 512Mb ram. Is it the same for Parallels?? I have two virtual machines, one with Xp Pro with 768Mb ram and one with vista with 938Mb ram (XP runs great, but vista is very slow with 100% proccesor on the virutal machine). I have a C2d Imac with 2Gb ram. So, should I limit the virtual machine to 512 MB ram or is it ok to use whatever memory configuration we want??

    Thanks

    Jonathan

You can test on your own what you like best.........

Ditto to the above for Vista, too. My experience was that giving the guest between 512 MB and 1 GB didn't noticeably improve performance on a day-to-day basis, so I've also settled on 512.
