Snow Leopard & PD 3 to PD 4

    I have recently upgraded to Snow Leopard on Mac OSX. I did not shut down my Parallels completely before I upgraded the operating system. I can now no longer access PD as Snow Leopard requires PD 4. In order to fix the problem I downloaded PD 4 but without shutting down PD3 I cannot run the update. I'm stuck!! Any ideas??
