The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -50). I got the above error from Mac OS when trying to copy a file from my Mac to a mounted virtual disk (mapped drive) on my Windows 7 VM. In my case it was because the filename had an invalid character. I removed the asterisk (*) from the filename and the copy succeeded. I am using Parallels Desktop 7 on Mac OS X 10.8.
