Hi, I have Parallels 9, I have a 1 TB hard drive that is split in half, MAC and Parallels/Windows 7. The ONLY programs I have installed on the Windows half, is Autocad, Solidworks & Inventor. These 3 CAD programs and an antivirus program are it for that side. But I only have 40 gig left out of 500??? WTF?!?!??! And I can't seem to find out what is using all the space. Damn near no drawings on file, so that isn't it. And everytime I remove and re-install the CAD programs, one of more of them seem to get all kinds of issues with the CAD stuff. It is like it gets corrupted somehow. I am about to give up on Parallels and go back to another damn PC. And I really don't want to do that. But I can't seem to find a way to make this work. Can I maybe set up Parallels and Windows and all that stuff on an external hard drive, and not use it on my MAC at all? If so, how do I go about it? Any help or ideas from anyone will be much appreciated. My MAC is much better than any PC I ever used, but trying to learn these CAD programs is being difficult when I keep having allll these problems in Parallels/Windows. Driving me to a shotgun for the whole thing.
Hello Harold, There might be a lot of different files except the virtual machine which may take up a lot of disk space of your Mac. We recommend to scan entire Mac disk to locate large files and decide whether you need them of not. Use this very handy freeware tool by Tjark Derlien: Disk Inventory X
