Hey I noticed that I manually had to add a sound adapter to my FreeBSD 6.1 install. After booting and running
    #kldload snd_driver
to load all the sound drivers I saw that it was recognized as Avance Logic ac97, however I couldnt make the sound work while in my desktop environment. Is there any official sound support for FreeBSD 6.x or has anyone been able to get it working on their own?

    Thanks for a great product!

EDIT: it shows up as the Intel ICH2 when doing cat /dev/sndstat (/var/log/messages was shoing the ac97) When I try to play a song in xmms using the esound plugin it just zooms through the song in about five secs (no sound can be heard) and I get error messages from the kernel saying channel is dead for pcm0.
