    Hi everyone,

I've been looking around on the web, but I can't confirm if there is sound support for Macbooks yet. Some places say yeah, some places say no, others say maybe. I can't seem to find a definitive answer anywhere.

Have any of you Macbook users had any luck with sound? If not, when do you expect there to be support for us?

I've installed Windows XP and everything went smoothly except for during installation, it could not find "Streamci.dll". I went and found the file and pasted it into its directory C:\WINDOWS\system32 but I still have no luck. I've configured "enable sound" in the Parallels options, and done pretty much everything else, yet I still can't get a sound. I am desperate at this point because I need XP to run sound programs. :(

I appreciate any help you all can give me.

Do you know anything about sound problems, then? How can I get this sound working?

Sorry for double posting, but I got it working:

Use the following Sigmatel Setup (it's an earlier verison):

    5.10.5143_XP32_XP64_MCE_V1

Then install, reboot, and voila, sound from headphones AND speakers.

Except now I can't listen to music or do MIDI playback? Any help?

All righty guys! I got it fixed!

I installed an earlier version of the Sigmatel Driver, which enabled sound, and since it didn't install a MIDI driver, I used the Yamaha XGS50 and that pretty much did the trick.

Parallels is definitely getting a piece of my checkbook now. :)
