Parallels 4.0 (3540) on OS X 10.5.5, MacBook Pro (late 2008). I do not swap Ctrl and Command in OS X; I'm trying to get used to the native way of doing things. However, in my XP session in Parallels, I do want to swap the Mac Alt and Command keys, so that Alt is the Windows key and Command is the Alt key, since that is their natural placement on a PC keyboard. However, doing so exhibits the characteristics of some of the other "sticky key" reports. I'm opening this one because I didn't see one with the same parameters as mine, i.e. without swapping the OS X keys, and mapping Alt instead of Ctrl. I also filed a problem report, #21999. This is making it REALLY hard to use Parallels; I've been typing with those keys in that position for way too many years. Hope this gets fixed soon!
Yes, the "doing so" meant I mapped Command to Alt and Alt to Windows, and the rest was the result of that mapping.
OK, can you give me a bit more guidance than just "some scenario"? I indicated what I did and the results, both in the original email and in the problem report. I'll be glad to provide more information, but I don't know what you mean by "some scenario".
I tried to give as much detail as I could already, but I'll try again. The problem report provides more detailed information. Within OSX keyboard preferences, I do not have Control and Command swapped. Within Parallels, I mapped Alt to Windows, and Command to Alt. Within the VM, the Alt key (i.e. the physical Command key) now doesn't work, or more accurately, it works as if it's sticky. Once pressed, the alt key doesn't release until you press it again. So, you can't, for example, Alt-tab between all of the windows within the VM, at least while holding down the Alt key.
