   How do I keep Parallels from automatically connecting my CD drive into the VM and bugging me to connect my iPod, HDD, etc.?

   Hello IndianCheese,
   
   You should change CD / DVD-Rom settings in Configuration Editor. Disable "Connect at startup" option.
