I wonder if anybody can help me with the question how to stop Parallels 11 from auto pausing the guest OS, which in this case is OS X Mavericks. Help would be greatly appreciated. Chris
Thank you Dineshraj for pointing out the knowledge base article, I had a look at it and have the following questions: it seems to not completely refer to v11, it was last updated May 2014. The window looks quiet different in v11. On the second hand it refers to Windows as Guest system, while I am using OS X Mavericks as guest system. I have added two screenshots (in German, as I am running on German localization). Both represent in my opinion what was shown in the kb note, but the function to turn pausing on or off does not show up. Further help would be great. Thank you. Chris
Hi ChristianK3, it looks like Windows and Mac are isolated. Go to Configure > Security > and uncheck Isolate Windows from Mac. Now, go to Options > Applications and disable 'Pause Windows (virtual machine) when possible' and check if it helps.
Thank you very much Arun for taking a look at this. I took a look at the security settings and the "Isolate VM from Mac checkbox was not checked, so this does not seem to be the the problem.I added a screenshot. The option > Applications window says "Not available for this OS" As I mentioned it is OS X Mavericks running as guest OS. See screenshot Further help would be very warmly welcomed. Thank you. Christian
Hi ChristianK3, Please take a snapshot and then stop your virtual machine, go to virtual machine's Configuration->General-> Choose the name of your Virtual machine into Windows 7 or Windows 10. Now, go to Options > Applications and disable 'Pause Windows (virtual machine) when possible' and then change back your VM to Mac OS X Guest and then check how it works.
Thanks again for all the great help. Great idea form Paul and really fascinating doing it, seeing my Mac Guest system turning to Windows, but in the end it does not prevent my Mavericks from pausing automatically. Anything even deeper I can dig in? As you can think: any help still greatly appreciated. Chris
