    Dear ladies & gentlemen,

I'm student at the technical university of Vienna (Europe/Austria) and I'm interessted
in buying a licence of Paralles Desktop (maybe Paralles Desktop Premium) for Mac -
would it be possible to get a special student discount?

    King regards,
    stobe

For now there are special discounts, but I am afraid I am not helpful in non-tech questions.
Please create ticket in support and ask for current promotions and discounts
    http://www.parallels.com/en/support/desktop/
Please note, email support is free

I hope you had some luck in getting a student discount for your copy of Parallels Desktop.

For others, as an FYI... as of 6/30/2009...

It is not advertised anywhere in Parallels online store or in the current "Special Offers" listing, but you *can* get a student discount for Parallels Desktop for Mac, here... for $40... provided you are...
Unfortunately, I purchased my copy from the online store a day before finding this offer, so can't report on the efficacy of completing the student discount purchase -- or how tightly they monitor the "student" requirement. Feel free to report back with your experience(s).

    Discount is legit

Thanks DominicP! I just wanted to give followup and confirmation on this -- it works! The site (onthehub.com) is a legitimate source of discount student software. Is does require verification of student status with a working .edu email address. You just pay online with Visa/MC and they send you a link with a verification code to download from Parallels (Parallels makes you register with them too). Each registration step is quick and easy -- the download link worked and I've registered and run Parallels.

By far the best price I found for Parallels -- thanks!

discount only for US and Canada?

If stobe went to the student discount link -- which goes to OnTheHub.com -- s/he would have found like I have that only students in the US and Canada are so far eligible. Which rather sucks, considering I only bought Parallels 4 in August from the same site and I used an Australian university account with no problem (ie, edu.au).

I put in a ticket to Parallels support and was told that:
"We do not have information regarding this. However, you may contact OnTheHub regarding the restriction made to international students.

You will find contact information from the following web page: http://www.onthehub.com/contactus.htm"

I find this a bit odd. I've contacted OnTheHub and am waiting to hear why the restriction and if it will be permanent.

I really need v5 as v4 runs like a dog on Snow Leopard; v5 is dramatically better.

I really could benefit from the student discount (seeing as im only 15 without a job) but I'm not a college student and my email from school is "@sharonacademy.net" what should I do?

    Wow Thanks!

The link is the real deal!

I just purchased Parallels 6 for Mac for $48!!! I was just about to pay $80 for it before I saw this thread.

Just use an academic email address and then pay. You will be directed to a page where you can copy and paste your activation code from. SWEEEEEET
