I've tried to install these distros which have replaced stable CentOS releases, however the Parallels bios screen sticks and the actual Linux boot sequence never shows.

    Anyone get these to work?

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 doesn't have any support for M1; too old of a kernel. You can try CentOS 9 Alpha to see if this have been alleviated, otherwise open an issue with Red Hat.

Fedora works perfectly fine though, I recommend using that.

Same issue here. Alma Linux is our standard for a project, therefore, it would be good to get them going.
It gets as far as selecting the install verification or go straight to the install. Selecting either jumps right back to the same install select screen.

    Anyone make progress?
https://rockylinux.org is one of the options at DigitalOcean so it would be nice to get past the looping install prompt and test out some things in Parallels.

Alma or Rocky Linux on M1. Please. The world, and in my case, Crestron is going to RHEL. Pretty please.

Any update on being able to install Rocky Linux in Parallells? I was going to use the free version but then I paid for Paralles hoping that there would be some support but I guess not.

I installed Alma 8.6 on Parallels 17. Intel iMac. No problems. I selected "Other Linux" when installing.

This thread is for ARM Macs. Alma 8.6 installs fine on your Intel iMac because its an x86-64 device. All versions/variants of RHEL before RHEL 9 don't support ARM Macs because their kernels are compiled with 64k pagesize, whereas M1 requires 16k pagesize.

Oops! Requested a delete. Sorry, Google link sent me here and I thought it was general.

AlmaLinux and RockyLinux support in Parallels as a default option would be awesome. Also there are issues installing Parallels tools on AlmaLinux 9.
