I am writing on behalf of a non-technical friend who bought Parallels with her computer at my recommendation 3 years ago. My friend is running Windows XP on Parallels Desktop for Mac 3.0 on Leopard, and has a Samsung SCH-A930 cellphone. We are buying her a replacement battery and, she has never synced this cell phone, but is convinced that it has no non-volatile memory for contacts. I do not know if this is true or not but I strongly believe that her backing up this data is a very good idea. My research indicates that this phone has no support within Mac OS either in iSync, or with 3rd party plugins/applications. There is, however, a data cable + software sync kit for windows. I know many virtual machines have issues connecting to raw USB devices, and the A930 appears to be a bit of an oddball. My friend has very little patience for technical troubleshooting or computers in general, and I would like to know, before I order this kit (for a phone she's likely to replace in the next 6 - 24 months) if this can work inside Parallels, on her iMac, or if I need to spend over an hour installing BootCamp and another copy of XP so we can sync her phone? I appreciate you help and your understanding with this matter.
