Okay, so I recently migrated from a PC to a MacBook Pro. I've used desktop Macs for a while, so I'm familiar with them, but now have no PC I can ActiveSync my phone to, which is okay, really. I use Google Calendar for my calendar. I installed the Google calendar sync, so it keeps Google and the Mac in sync.

Since I have a couple of PC only programs I still need to run, I bought Parallels Desktop 3.0 and made myself a little virtual XP machine for those. That has me wondering - can I install ActiveSync on the virtual XP machine, and will it allow mt to sync to iCal? Or would I have to install ActiveSync and Outlook on the VM and then use that? That would be a little more hoop-stepping than I'd like to do, but if ActiveSync on the VM would see iCal...

    Anybody tried this?

    Thanks,

    Sean

Nobody? Am I the only one lame enough to still have a Windows Mobile phone? I'd like to switch to an iPhone at some point, but I'm stuck with this one for about another year.

Activesync works fine between my XP VM and my HTC Tytn. I've even used it to upgrade the firmware.

Just think of the VM as what it really is: another machine on the network. The phone can sync to outlook, which can then export an ical, which can be subscribed to by the mac.

Thanks. I was hoping not to have to install Outlook on the virtual windows machine, but it looks like that migh be the only way. That or uing something like Missing Sync.
