Having trouble with Quickbooks opening (similar message to above), so I followed advice on this page

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/919753

Which tells me to rename the Winspool.drv file and restart.

I did this, but now Parallels is caught in an infinite loop of starting windows, then going blue screen and complaining about no Winspool file (attached)

How can I get out of this?

    Many thanks

Managed to mount the .pvm file with Parallels Mounter and renamed the file as it was.

    However...

I now have a problem with sfcfiles.dll - this was generated today by the system. I cannot figure out how to restore it. Have tried:

    1. Opening backup of .pvm file and mounting both that and current one, copying files between.

    2. Renaming the affected .dll file and seeing if system creates new file (it does not)

    3. Copying mounted .pvm file to Desktop (won't let me)

    4. Trying copying from Terminal - operation not permitted

Going crazy here. Anyone experienced anything slightly similar?

As there doesn't seem to be an answer to this one, I have just backed up this .pvm file and then restored the .pvm file from a back up.

Mac needed a restart, but everything works. God knows what data I have lost, but at least I can run parallels now...
