Parallels Desktop 6 with Windows Vista Basic

Used to be fine (on Parallels 6 but I've just installed an update to version 6.0.11990 and this issue has just started. No changed to my single virtual machine (except Parallels Tools obviously has to re-install themselves).

On changing the view to Coherence more I get a warning pop-up saying "The Color Scheme Has Been changed". I (obviously) cannot run Aero (and the config has it disabled). Video config has 3D acceleration enabled with 256MB video memory. In windows, standard theme and colours except no background image, just a plain grey background.

If I click on the warning to get the full message, Windows cannot identify what has changed the color scheme. It says "The following program has performed an action that requires Windows to temporarily change the color scheme to windows Vista Basic (which it was before except as above)", then "Program: <unavailable>, Publisher: <Unavailable>, Process identifier (ID): 1472

Message is driving me "up the wall" and is 100% definitely related to the update (as it was fine, install update and immediately message starts).

I have tried removing the StarDock MyColors thing ('cos I did not put it there and elsewhere on forum somebody said it solves it - but it doesn't).

Any ideas very gratefully received - I switch between coherence and windowed view a lot and keep having to check what this warning is about !!

    Many thanks
    Stuart

    Same Error

I have the same error. It now states the cause is Parallels Coherence causing the problem. Did anyone ever respond to this?

I'm also getting this error. Has anyone found a solution yet?
