The old wait while the virtual machine is being configured

I migrated a fully activated windows 7 laptop to parallels on my mac book pro, upon opening the machine now it runs through the pretty "what parallels 5 can do" stuff, then says i need to manually continue the process of configuring the "......" virtual machine. I've looked around but never saw any successful answer to this. My screen is all black with no error messages, it won't ask me to log in so i can't complete it or install tools. Is there an answer?

I've had vmware running on my machine but deleted all of those machines. I've had parallels trial on the machine before but no more machines, so i don't think there is a conflict there. Thanks for any suggestions anyone has, i can't find out how to get help from parallels directly.
