Yesterday I saw what seemed like a good argument fro excluding the Parallels VM from Time Machine backups. My problem is that I do NOT know or am able to find a path to the Parallels VM with my Finder.

I'm running Parallels 4.0 in a default installation. Can anyone point me in the direction to look in Finder for Parallels so that I can exclude anything to do with this program?

PS I don't really have a need to backup anything that I do in Parallels so that is not a factor. The logic to exclude Parallels is to save space on my backup Time Machine HD.

    Hello,

Your Parallels Desktop default location is finder - > Machdd - > applications - > Parallels.

And the default location for your virtual machine is Users - >username - > Documents - >Parallels - >VM_name>, this is a .pvm file.

    Uresolved Time Machine Issue

I have excluded the files/folders listed in this segment, and I am still consistently getting a back up from Time Machine of 18.41gb when clearly I am not making that many changes every hour.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
