Hi, apologize if below issue has been raised before.

If I backup my Mac using Time Machine, I understand that the files in Parallels/Virtual Machine (ie Windows 10) are backed-up as well.
Now if I want to restore from backup, do I have install Windows again or will Windows be installed with restore?

Does Acronis True Image backup and restore operating system (ie Windows) ?

    Many thanks

    Hi NikolaosA1,

When you install Windows on your Mac using Parallels Desktop, Windows will be created as a file with an extension .pvm (Parallels virtual machine) which will include your Windows 10 Operating System and all the applications installed in Windows. So whenever time machine backup's the whole .pvm file will be backed up which can be restored later. But Acronis True Image backup and restore can be installed on Mac and Windows, based on where it is installed it can be restored accordingly. If you have
Acronis True Image backup and restore installed on Mac the whole .pvm file will be backed up. If it is installed in the Windows virtual machine and due to issues on you Mac the whole virtual machine is deleted then you have to create a new Windows virtual machine and then you can restore the files backed up by Acronis inside Windows.

    Thanks,
    Ajith M.
