Doing a clean install of 2.2.2222 on Ubuntu (thus using the .deb format package), directories in my home directory .parallels and parallels-vm are incorrectly set as being owned by root.

I issued "sudo chown userid:userid .parallels" (where "userid" was my userid) and the same for parallels-vm to correct this trouble so I could actually write files / dirs to the parallels-vm directory.

This was a new problem with 2222, 2204 did not have this problem.

Parallels 2222 continues to make root:userid files as it operates. I created a new VM and all files and the dir associated with that VM was at first root:userid so I chown'ed -R to userid:userid as former versions of Parallels made. That definitely seems a new quirk.

Could someone from Parallels please comment about this behavior?

    Solved with 2232

I just created a new VM with the 2232 build from Parallels (deb format) and permissions / ownership of the files was correct. This problem seems to have been resolved.

    Thanks!
