I can not get tools to work. They are installed but coherence won't work (haven't tried others yet). Have tried reinstalling have tried the pointer fixes it recommends in help. The message says "mouse synchronization service is not started reinstall tools and try again."Any help out there? Oh I am not a computer wiz but competent so thorough explanation may be necessary. Did you try uninstalling Parallels Tools completely from Start -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove programs and then install them back? Also, if coherence is the only problem, you can try checking the mouse driver in Start -> Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device manager. Make sure there are no exclamation marks.
Did as posted above. Now tools will not install at all!Install screen blinks then get error sound followed by message "failed to install shared folder driver" then does roll back an restarts VM which now is small screen inside of VM window.Next tried to install tools from Mac library tools.iso tools.exe or some similar name which does nothing also tried clicking autorun.inf but asks for program to open it of which I haven't a clue.So now my situation is worse. Hope someone out there has a better idea. Rick
For this, you can check the following thread: http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?t=31724 In short, update Parallels to thr latest version available and make sure no antivirus is running (uninstall it to make sure). This includes Parallels Internet Security. If that would not help, you would need to apply the solution with prl_fs_drv.iso (post #11)
I am running 4.0 build 3844 that is the latest not? I have been reading lots of threads with PO'd people because of problems with 4.0. I'll try the fix in the thread but seeing what happened last time I am less than confident.
