The same thing here. I used to run the Trackpad++ on my Boot Camp partition before I had purchased Parallels. Trackpad++ works very well indeed! Unlike the Boot Camp drivers, it supports swiping with 3 fingers, and switching between windows with 4 fingers. Also it supports 3 finger click which opens the tab in background in Firefox. Needless to say, I've been completely happy using this alternate driver. But then I installed Parallels and... :((( here is the bad news: the only way to use Parallels and Boot Camp at the same time is to use a separate Windows image for VM. As the guy who maintains Trackpad++ project wrote: "you can use both Parallels and VMware Fusion without any issues - just do not share the Boot Camp partition with real Windows 7 installation". And no other solution exists... Too bad :(((

I directly contacted the developer of this otherwise great Trackpad++ driver and there are no plans to support shared Boot Camp partition via Parallels. Please can someone point me to a similar driver with full gesture support AND Parallels support?

    Potential temporary fix...

I think I found a fix (kind of) for this:

Boot your computer into windows (not using parallels, from the main screen, by holding down option). Go through the trackpad++ setup completely as directed, making sure it fully installs. You will have to ignore the request about the parallels conflict.

Once trackpad++ is fully installed, then go to the start menu, type run, and pull up a command prompt. Type msconfig, and click on the startup tab when the window comes up. Uncheck trackpad++. What this does is that it STOPS trackpad++ from alto loading when windows boots. This means that when you load your macbook into OS X, and then run parallels, it will default to the parallels drivers on the virtual machine (the VM that is tied to your hard drive's partition of Windows 7)...

IF for whatever reason you want to load windows all by itself from booting, you can do so. You will simply have to MANUALLY load trackpad++ by going to the program files, and finding the trackpad++ program. You could even make a shortcut on your windows desktop to make it easier.

I've tested and parallels boots fine. I'm too scared to run trackpad++ while in a parallels boot of my bootcamp partition. I don't know what would happen.

Hope this helps, and I would love confirmation if this is a reasonable fix in the minds of others.

I have this same problem but preventing trackpad++ from loading at startup did not fix the problem. Anyone else have more luck?

I know it's an old thread but it's near the top of search results when researching this problem, so I thought I would give the benefit of my experience for the next person.

I too had this problem. I am using Windows 7 Home Premium, Tackpad++ 3.0b and Parallels Desktop 9 build 9.0.24172. Launching Bootcamp with Trackpad++ set to load totally froze my virtual machine, I couldn't do anything to break out of it apart from force closing. Booting direct into Bootcamp I used the directions above to remove the driver load and now no problem under Parallels! I just have to run Trackpad++ manually when in Bootcamp proper. Strangely it didn't used to be a problem, I believe a recent software update to Parallels broke something (my version of Trackpad++ has not changed).

Another tip for you. You will see the Trackpad++ website goes on about a mandatory install of Power Plan Assistant when using 64 bit Windows. I meet the criteria for this but for me Trackpad++ installs fine on it's own, give it a go. I suspect it's a way of getting more copies of his software out there.
