Since I have my new macbook (late 2008, alu) I rarely use my AMD Athlon 3500+ WinXP SP3 machine.

So I tried to migrate it to Parallels Desktop 4.0 using the Transporter Agent. That worked but the migrated XP only wants to boot in safe mode. In normal mode it's BSODing on me with the STOP 0x0000007E error.
I uninstalled all nvidea (nforce 4 chipset on the AMD) drivers but to no avail.

I can't figure out the cause for the problems but I guess it has something to do with the different CPU architecture (AMD vs. Intel) and some specific drivers that fail to load. Of course I disabled all hardware like usb, sound, par. port, network etc in both Parallels as well as Windows config panel.

So is my scenario even possible?

I don't like to reinstall Windows from scratch because it takes too much time to install & configure the additional apps too. VMware Fusion gave me the same problem, so it's unlikely that the Parallels is the cause.
