okay, installed Parallels fine. start a new virtual machine, name it and choose to create from cd. put windows XP disc in and hit finish. it does a blue screen thing and then says windows starting up. Done in 4 minutes. Takes me back to the configuration screen and when i hit the play button to start I get a black screen that says boot from hard disk and just stays there with nothing else happening. What is going on. i have tried this 3 times already and i am frustrated. I can't even get to the screen to install windows XP. Anyone help me?

Have you proceed according to the relevant information in Parallels Desktop for Mac User Guide.pdf situated in /Applications/Parallels?

    yes

yes i did follow the book. i get a weird screen after it say windows starting it say problems detected, and stopped to prevent further damage. then it give a bunch of options. the screen is only up for 2 or 3 seconds and it goes back to the configuration screen.

Maybe the Windows installation disk is corrupted?

    okay

how would i check that? it is a brand new XP disc. so i am doing the set up correctly? I followed the tutorial video from online and it all matches up perfectly until the point where i put the disc in and it gets caught and goes back to the configure screen.

Well then, if you followed all the instructions written in the user guide, if you used the Express Installation, if the disc is brand new and if you don't give any more information that could lead into possible and probable causes, then I've nothing else to say except to assume something's wrong in your setup.

Tyr to use Custom installation, and also try to disable Hardware acceeleration, and Intel VTx
