Hi, I realise other people have already posted with similar problems but I was unable to solve mine from checking them. Basically, I have a Brother DCP 770CW network printer, which is working fine with all computers on the network including my host mac OS, but when trying to install the printer my guest OS (windows XP) fails to locate it. On configuration Parallels recognises the printer set to Parallel port 1, but windows fails to recognise it, even when I use the driver for the printer. What can I do?
CallumMcLean, Try setting up the network printer as per the following article: http://kb.parallels.com/en/4886
I am amazed this is so difficult, seeing that it is so easy to share a printer on a network of Macs. This and some other methods of printer attachment seems to ask for two things I don't know how to do: 1. Remove existing drivers for printer from Windows XP - once one has deleted a particular printer, how do you get at the drivers? 2. Use the IP address of the printer in the setup the Mac System Preferences doesn't give a clue on the TCP/IP address, so I don't know how to find it.
