I am trying to migrate to a new MacBookPro 17-inch... and am unable to find my guest OS. The new machine is running OS 10.5.7 (same as old machine) and the Parallels version is new (downloaded day before yesterday) version 4.

I used my Time Machine backup (which is current as of this morning).

Result is that I have my Parallels icon in the Dock. When I double-click it, it launches a window, appears to launch Windows Vista, and then stays in black. After approx a minute, disk activity ceases.

I have tried using Finder to locate my .pvm file. It doesn't find it when I search *.pvm. I have tried finding it manually -- both in the subdirectories Macintosh HD/Users/user/documents/Parallels (which is empty) and ../Parallels. It's also empty.

When I double-click the Parallels icon in the Dock, stop the virtual machine, and click File, I see that it is looking for the pvm in this location:

Paul Mac/Macintosh HD/Users/user/Parallels./.1/--------------------------------------------------------------------------Windows Vista.pvm (and yes, that string of dashes is in there).

So the question is, what's the easiest way to get the virtual machine back and running?
