I've seen a lot of issues with file sharing in Ubuntu 11.1, but no current solutions (I don't see any folders/files in the psf directory.) Funny thing is I also downloaded Fedora 15, and file sharing seems to work with that Linux guest. Any timeline as to when this will be addressed?
Do you mean Ubuntu 11.10? I have a perfectly functioning Ubuntu 11.10, based on ubuntu-11.10-desktop-amd64.iso. I've attached an image showing my Parallels Shared Folder and my Home dir. 1) Are you on the latest Build of Parallels 7 (7.0.15052)? 2) Check your Parallels Tools Install Log (/var/log/parallels-tools-install.log) for errors 3) Check your Sharing settings: Virtual Machine | Configure... | Sharing
Do you mean Ubuntu 11.10? - Yes 1) Are you on the latest Build of Parallels 7 (7.0.15052)? Yup this is what I'm running. 2) Check your Parallels Tools Install Log (/var/log/parallels-tools-install.log) for errors -- I've attached the log, there are a few errors, but I'm not sure how I go about correcting them. 3) Check your Sharing settings: Virtual Machine | Configure... | Sharing -- I've set up my sharing for the OSX shared folder, but the /media/psf is empty. Thanks, John C.
Ok, After downloading a new Ubuntu 64bit iso and doing a complete reinstall, the sharing now works. The only thing I can think of was that I originally downloaded the Ubuntu 11.04 from File -> new (Parallels wizard) and then did and upgrade of it. Maybe that was not a 64bit image? Anyway thanks for the help. John C.
