I am running Ubuntu 8.04 under Parallels 4.0 on my MacBook and Ubuntu says my DVD drive is a cdrom. When I put a DVD Movie in the drive it mounts it but no movie player will play the DVD cause it is mounted as cdrom0. Does anyone know how to fix this within Parallels or Ubuntu itself. This was the same way in Parallels 3.x. I was hoping 4.0 would recognize a DVD Drive and mount it correctly. Any thoughts people? Thanks

Did you boot Ubuntu with your physical DVD drive connected to VM?

Labels disc image on Desktop as DVD. But doesn't mount as DVD

Yes. The DVD is in "connected" state when I initiate Ubuntu from Parallels. Ubuntu will play CD Roms (music, etc). Rip the songs to the music player, even labels the disc image on the Desktop as DVD. But it does not mount it as a DVD and movie players don't play the movies.
