Ubuntu resolution

    By default Ubuntu can only go up to 1024x768. I edited xorg.conf and added 1440x900 and 1280x800. This sort of worked in that I can now set Ubuntu at 1280x800 but I still don't get the option of running at 1440x900.

    I'd like to run Ubuntu at this res at this is what OSX is running at but the gods are against me. Has anyone else run into this problem?

    I have a 15.4" Macbook Pro.
