    Hi all,

I looked throughout these forums to see if my issue has been addressed but did not see it. Sorry if this is addressed elsewhere, but it seems I have a unique issue.

I upgraded my Parallels 3 to version 5638. Now what happens when I launch parallels from Leopard is, the VM loads but when I get to the windows login screen it will not let me launch windows (XP home by the way). A small window pops up with a big red x and the word ok in it..........no other text is in the warning box. I know, odd even for windows. If I don't do anythingh launch never occurs, and if I click ok or try to "x" out the warning box the log in screen resets back to the login choices, and if I click on a user the cycle begins again.

Now, if I try to load windows straight from Boot camp I don't even get that far...........I get black screen with a text box telling me windows won't load due to missing Dll's or Kernels However, I have had that problem for a while but was always able to load through parallels prior to upgrading the version yesterday.

Does it seem I have a windows problem and if so how would I fix it since I can't get to windows. i would be willing to format the whole partition and re-install windows if someone told me how. I also understand that I don't have to partition anymore with parallels, and could just leave out boot camp while installing windows in Leopard and sticking with just parallels as my windows resource. Is this true?

FIrst of all, in your current situation you can just try to repair the Windows installation (bootcamp one, that you have). Check out the following article: http://kb.parallels.com/en/5138
Also, you can always, you are correct with that one, create an entirely new virtual machine, not using any bootcamp partition.
A step by step instructions on how to do that can be aquired here.
