Unable to Load Parallels Tools

I had no difficulty migrating an XP Pro "machine" to a new Mac Mini. But, I'm completely unable to load Tools to make it usable. When I try to install, after Parallels starts the install process but then I get a Blue Screen of Death on the Windows screen with a message that turns off before I can read it. It's an entire page which starts off with "windows is shutting down because . . . read only memory." I've tried repeatedly installations to read the message, but it's not on the screen long enough. I've turned off the firewall, anti-virus and anti-malware software that I ran on Windows thinking that was the problem. It's not. I can't think of anything else to do.
