I recently upgraded from Parallels 3 to Parallels 5. For some reason, Parallels 5 was unable to convert the Parallels 3 HDD, so I ended up installing and setting up an entirely new Windows system, and re-installed the software I needed, including Adobe FrameMaker 8.0. However, FrameMaker is unable to save/overwrite files over the local network, which is a problem because I keep all of my work files on the host Macintosh. When I attempt to save an FM file to a shared folder on the host Mac, the message "The <file>.fm.XXX that FrameMaker wrote may be damaged, where XXX is FrameMaker's temp flle name suffix. The other programs I tested do not have this problem (Word, etc.), and FrameMaker doesn't have this problem when exporting .ps or .txt files, or when saving to the virtual C: disk. Nor did FrameMaker have this problem in Parallel's 3. I have tested all of the obvious (to me) items - file naming, network-related prefs, etc., and I always get the same message. Does anyone have any ideas what is happening here? Thanks
Found solution Sorry, telegent here, and no reply is needed. I ended up finding the solution by downloading a hotfix, by means of a reply to a question posed by Ken1 (http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?t=100516&highlight=framemaker+network+saving) For anybody else interested, the download can be found here: download.parallels.com/desktop/v5/en_us/parallels/update3/prl-tools-win.sf.iso Good luck.
