Please I need help (got to work!): -Yesterday I did an archive & install due to a problem not concerning parallels (I have 5584). After that I could launch parallels without any probs. (I have not had any probs for months, by the way.) -Just this morning I couln't anymore. A popup came up: "parallels desktop is unable to cooperate properly since it cannot communicate with one of its drivers. Seems that the drivers are inconsistent with the currently installed version of Parallels Desktop. To overcome this issue, reinstall Parallels Desktop and start it by selecting Finder-Applications-Parallels-Parallels." I followed the instruction by reinstalling parallels, but I could not! It says: 'You don't have parallels installed on your computer' I rebooted, repaired permissions, but still it is saying 'You don't have parallels installed on your computer'! Well, it certainly is there, in the app.map, where it always has been. Please help, I'm stuck here and I have to work.
Hello Ephra, Please sorry for the answer delay. You can run these commands in Mac Terminal to uninstall Parallels completely: • sudo rm /System/Library/Extensions/vmmain.kext • sudo rm /System/Library/Extensions/hypervisor.kext • sudo rm /System/Library/Extensions/Pvsvnic.kext • sudo rm /System/Library/Extensions/ConnectUSB.kext • sudo rm /System/Library/Extensions/Pvsnet.kext • sudo rm -rf /Library/Parallels/ • sudo rm ~/Library/Preferences/com.parallels.* Before you run these commands, please make sure that your VM hdd and pvs files are NOT stored in ~/Library/Parallels. Best regards, Xenos
