We have a corporate version of Parallels 6 with an activation key built in...don't know how that works, but we can "purchase" parallels 6 internally, download it and use it w/o entering an individual activation key. I installed that version on my new Mac Book Pro but accepted the suggestion of loading a newer version of 6 from the net. Although that version installed correctly, it asked for an activation key--which I don't have because of the bulk purchase described above. So, I uninstalled that version and reinstalled our local version..being careful not to download the newer version off the web. Install was successful, but parallels still asks for an activation key. Other users of the same install claim that our local version installs with out asking for a key. Does the uninstall process leave a properties file or something on the mac that our local parallels picks up? Anyone have any experience w/bulk purchases of parallels and how that affects activation keys?
