I increaed the limit of my virtual image and a drive E: was created. Can I completely uninstall parallels and XP Pro from my iMac then reinstall Parallels and start fresh with smaller disk space and not have a volume E: ? Thanks, JN
In a word, yes -- however... If you want to install a new copy of XP, just delete your VM and create a new one. No need to remove the Parallels app. OTOH, if you created your VM with an expanding virtual disk, it isn't taking up any more space than needed for the data you put on it, so having a larger virtual disk costs you VERY little actual hard disk space. Additional physical HD space is allocated as you add data. If it gets too big and you decide to remove some files, Parallels Compressor will shrink the physical files back to the point where they use just enough space for your remaining files. The volume E sounds as if you increased your virtual drive space and created a new volume from the extra space instead of expanding your boot (C) drive. You can remove this volume with XP's logical disk manager, and either expand C, or ignore the extra space (which is just virtual space, not actual physical space) until you need more space. So there are lots of options not requiring a reinstall of XP.
