Growing frustrated with multiple problems, including inability to install Tools.
If I uninstall Parallels Desktop, per the manual instructions, do I understand correctly that everything I transported the first time around stays on the Mac disk? And so if I re-install Parallels Desktop (this time choosing Windows Express, so the Tools get installed automatically!), it will find all the elements of my old PC hard drive still there on the Mac?
I ask because after I had transported, Microsoft insisted I buy a new license for Windows. I did so, and they promised to snail-mail me a disk, but I haven't gotten that yet, and it would add to my frustration to uninstall and reinstall and have it ask for the Windows re-installation disk that hasn't arrived ypet.

Yes, the .hdd files remains. By default it is stored underneath ~/Documents/Parallels

    Hello,

Eru is right, uninstallation of Parallels Desktop won't affect your virtual hard disk file.
