Dear All Experts, We have been using 2X quiet awhile, everything is fine except the universal printing is not so cool. Let's start from our configuration 1. Server XG 11.0 build 1933 2. Client XG 11.0 build 1933, while Client OS we have WinXP and Win7 32bits 3. Client printer Epson LQ-1600 KIIIH by LPT 4. Client printer PDFWriter We need to print on a custom sized paper which in 24.2cm x 5.08cm - a typical size for ticket use in garment manufacturing. We test printed locally and everything is fine, but the problem is when we print this within 2X universal printing the print-out become distorted. I believe this is related to scaling of 2X universal print with non-standard paper size that seems like this trying to fit everyone in one page - when in small page this become fill up the whole page. I have isolated the problem from client printer driver as this happen the same to both Epson 1600 KIIIH and PDFWriter. To make it easier for everyone to understand, I have attached two files, the "OK_local_testpage.jpg" is screencap(as pdf is not allowed to upload here) of the pdf produced directly using PDFWrite in custom-size, while the file "Distorted_2X_testpage.jpg" is screencap of the pdf produced by using the 2X universal printer, also in custom-size, on same windows 7 workstation. P.S: We also tried the terminal service easy print redirected printer, but this won't allow us to assign the custom paper size to the redirected printer, this will default back to A4 or Letter and return an error "Printer Settings could not be saved. This operation is not supported.", if you have any solution or workaround on this please also let me know. Thanks you so much, Eric
Were you able to get an answer on this? We are struggling with the same issue although it is with a DYMO LabelWriter using address size labels (1 1/8" x 3 1/2"). Works fine locally, works fine when using RDP, even works fine with 2X redirection when we use a Win 2008 terminal server with a Win 7 Client or when we use a Win 2012 TS with a Win 8 client. It doesn't work with a Win 2012 TS and a Windows 7 client. Very irritating. Something is not being translated properly with regard to paper size or fonts or something.
We have released a new ASXG and 2X client for Windows build which may help with this issue. The update can be invoked from ASXG console -> Administration -> 'Software Update' tab. Let us know how it goes.
