I have recently downloaded and installed your Beta version of ‘2X VirtualDesktopServer’. I am surprised to see that the VDI component has no support for VMware ESX or ESXi, VMware Server 2.0 and Microsoft Hyper-V. If you are seriously thinking about releasing this product in the future, I would like to see support for these virtualisation platforms. It’s very disappointing and surprising to see that the Beta version is very behind on the latest virtualisation platforms which most customers (those who are serious about virtualisation) would be using in production today. If there will be no support for these platforms, I for one would not even consider using this application to support a virtual desktop environment when I could use another such as Citrix XenDesktop Express that allows for up to 10 unlicensed connections to virtual desktops hosted on VMware ESX and Hyper-V. Are there any plans to build this into the final release?
hi matt we are constantly improving this new product and it will be planned as a long beta. The issues with the VDI providers are that they are constantly changing the versions on a weekly or monthly basis at the moment, as there seems to be no firm idea on the functions and path people in business will need. Unlike others we are also going to support multiple environments and technologies from a single product, this takes time to develop, but also has the potential and flexibility that most companies will need in the coming months/years . Bear with us, and Im sure as with ApplicationServer you will see a outstanding product appearing
