Update Buggered Me Up

running mac OSX v 10.4.11 parallels desktop 2.5 build 3214.0

i opened parallels today and everythings working fine.

i leave full screen to transfer a file and notive parallels is telling me to update.

sure.

i DL, run update.

it reinstalls parallels....ok?....when i try to open, telling me i need to install guest OS?

i already had windows SP2 installed and working fine...not to mention A BUNCH LOAD OF IMPORTANT FILES AND PROGRAMS ON IT....now nothing.

my question is how can i make the updated parallels desktop run the same windows it did before i updated?

 

my apologies, i'm running an intel macbook 2 gb ram...

do parallels updates require reinstallation of guest os / creation of new VM?

if NOT, how can i run my old VM with my old version of windows ( the one i had before the update)?
