    I havent used my virtual machine for a while. I recently discovered that it did not work anymore because i installed Lion on my macbook (i was running Desktop 5). My question is;
    can i upgrade from within Lion? can i upgrade directly to 7? i could not find the answer on the forum or in the knowledgebase. hope someone can help

    You can upgrade to Parallels 7 in Lion, or upgrade to Parallels 7 and upgrade to Lion.

    One caution if using BootCamp. If you upgrade BootCamp to the Lion version (does not happen automatically - you have to manually download the updater) the new Windows drivers, etc. only work with Windows 7. Likewise if you want to setup a BootCamp partition to run any version of Windows prior to 7 set up your BootCamp partition before upgrading to Lion. Once the Lion version of BC is installed there seems to be no way to undo it and nothing prior to Windows 7 will install or run.

    Parallels does not have this restriction, but I thought I'd save you from this issue if you were considering using BootCamp with Parallels.
