upgrade from 3.0 to 4.0 does not work

    During my upgrade attempt Parallels desk top for mac 4.0 gives me an error message that says
    "Parallels desktop cannot be installed on your mac. Parallels desktop can only be installed on an intel-based machine."

    I have a Core Duo 1.83 Ghz iMac with 2gb rams running on OS x 10.4.11. Clearly i have an intel machine.

    Any ideas??
