Help! I was running build 1940 with no problems for a very long time and kept getting prompts to upgrade to the newest version of Parallels. I finally headed the prompt and now my VM is stuck in suspend mode and I can't get it out. It starts, and then just sits there with a blank black screen.

I am running Mac OSX and Parallels with WinXP pro no sp2 installed. Can I go back to my earlier version of parallels? I backed up before I upgraded.

    Please help!

    Hello,

    Please try these solutions:
    A. Stop the VM. To do so please open the virtual machine. The status will be "suspended". Go to the "Edit" menu, and choose the "Edit virtual machine" option. Click OK to stop the VM. Close the configuration window. Now the status will be "stopped". Start the virtual machine.

    B. Boot in safe mode and reinstall Parallels Tools. To do that,
    1. Restart (start) the VM and immediately keep pressing F8 repeatedly.
    2. Windows prompts to choose the way to boot. Choose the top option - Safe Mode.
    3. After booted, browse to Start->Control Panel->Add or Remove Programs.
    4. Remove Parallels Tools.
    5. Reboot and start Windows normally.
    6. Install Parallels Tools again via Actions->Install Parallels Tools... menu.

    C. Finally, try to repair Windows installation if nothing helps.

    Best regards,
    John
