Upgrading from 2.5 to 3.0

I have been using 2.5 since about a month before 3.0 came out and they wouldn't let me have 3.0 without paying an extra fee so I never bothered upgrading. Anyway, the other day I decided to buy 3.0... so now that I have it, I would like to know what's the best upgrade process?

Uninstall 2.5 first, then install the fresh 3.0 copy? And reinstall Tools? Will my VMs be OK?

Any suggestions or advice is appreciated!

 

Just install it (first uninstall 2.5 with uninstaller in dmg file).

Tools will install automaticly.
