Hi, I am (finally) going to upgrade from build 3214 (v2.5?) to v4.0. The reason being unstable performance on 10.5.6. Perhaps 2.5 was never meant to run on 10.5 but it worked fine for me until the last OS X upgrade. Now most times, Parallels Desktop doesn't even start (keeps bouncing on the dock) and freezes the system. I have to either reboot or (when possible) force quit and try to launch it again. It has also "unexpectedly quit" 3-4 times. Is anyone else having similar problems? Before I upgrade, I wanted to check with someone who has upgraded to the latest version and find out if I need to take any extra precautions while upgrading. Does anyone have experience with upgrading from 3214? Does the upgrade work without major problems? Of course, I will be backing up all of my data on external drives but what about the programs that I have already installed on build3214? I'd prefer to not lose all of my settings and not have to reinstall all the programs. Does the installer transfer over XP and all the programs without any glitch? Or is it better to perform a clean install? I'd appreciate anyone's help / suggestions. Thanks, Ted.
