Upgrading from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion

Hi,

I am currently running Parallels Desktop 6 on a iMac with Snow Leopard OS 10.6.8 and Windows 7. I would like to upgrade to Mountain Lion OS 10.8 and continue running Windows 7 virtually. Is it true that I need to upgrade to Parallels Desktop 8? If so, what sequence should I follow? Some possibilities:
1) Upgrade to PD 8 first followed by an upgrade to OS 10.8
2) Upgrade to OS 10.8 first (not sure if this corrupts PD 6) and then upgrade to PD 8
3) Any other possibilities?

With any of these options what happens to Windows 7? I am hoping I do not have to reinstall.

Only PDM7 and PDM8 work in ML.
1), you won't have to reinstall Windows.
