Upgrading My Boot Camp

I feel like I'm going crazy trying to get Parallels to work. I installed the latest version, and it's been sitting at the "Upgrading My Boot Camp" screen forever. In the Control Center, I can see that there's a blue screen "Bad_Pool_Caller", but I can't do anything about that. I reset the VM eventually (when I'm finally allowed to) and I get stuck on the same "Upgrading My Boot Camp" screen. I can't press F8 or do anything. I'm completely stuck. Is there any way I can remove that terrible lock out screen? Is there some way I can actually make Parallels work?
