Upgrading Windows to SATA tip...

    If you want to upgrade your VM from ATA to SATA, don't just switch the HD to SATA or Windows will likely bork due to lack of drivers. Instead, boot it as per usual with ATA and an additional temporary SATA drive. This will get Windows to install the SATA driver, after which you can remove the temporary drive and switch the ATA drive to SATA.
