I am a very happy user of Parallels and have never had any significant problems with any of the new builds. I am currently running Build 5160 and love it.

My question is this.......I am currently using Win2000 Pro because it is the OS that I own. However, due to an upcoming upgrade in my genealogy program, I may be forced to upgrade to WinXP (I do not want Vista.) Is there a way to get the programs and files from my 2000 VM into the new XP one or do I just have to reinstall everything into the new VM?

    Thanks.

    hi,
my experience with upgrading/reinstalling Win XP is you must to be ready to reinstalling all your necessary software. Because even when i've been reinstalling Win XP above already installed Win XP i had to reinstalling all my programs then. Windows XP installation wizard of course has special upgrade mode. You can read about it for example here:
    http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/setup/winxp/upgrade.mspx

but i never was able to successfully use it.

Thanks, Sandro. Now, at least I know what I'll be up against. :)
