    Greetings,
I have Parallels Desktop 10(!) and will be getting and using version 16 or maybe 17 (Intel, not M1 machine) on one machine, and version 14 on another (don't ask why...).
    1. Will my existing .pvm (XP) be cleanly imported into version 16/17 without having to import it into intermediate versions of Parallels Desktop?
    2. Will the .pvm, once imported into the newer version(s) be usable by the lower versions (14 and 10), or are they reconfigured in a way that is version-specific?
    Thank you.

Hello, as per your first query, yes, you will be able to move your Windows 7 virtual machine from Parallels desktop 10 to Parallels Desktop 17. You just need to purchase Parallels Desktop 17 upgrade license and activate it. You do not need to make any changes to your virtual machine.
For your second query, your virtual machine will be the same as it is after upgrading to Parallels Desktop 17.

OK!! This is great, and how I hoped it would work - just wanted to make sure. Thanks for the quick reply.
