    Hi all,
I'm trying to run a program called "Cain and Abel" on my Windows virtual machine, because I'm trying to make sure that everything's okay with my network. I have an ethernet cord hooked from it to my Xbox, trying to make sure everythings OK. However I encounter a problem: I can't view the ethernet's connection via my sniffer! Btw: A sniffer is something that monitors the connections and packets being transferred, I'm trying to do this over ethernet, and no I'm not a hacker, I'm just trying to makes sure my network is in good standing. How do I make it so that I can see this adapter via my Windows virtual machine? Because all I see is one adapter when I'm on it, and it's not the ethernet one, it's the shared connection instead. I was thinking maybe if I shut the shared network off it would work? but no nothing yet...

Feel free to message me over AIM: japatten33, or over Windows Live Messenger: japatten@live.com

    Thanks!

Bridged network is what you want, but I don't know if you'll be able to put the adaptor in promiscuous mode from a VM. (Which is what you need to do to receive all packets on the network) You might have to actually boot into Windows for that to work. Or get a Mac-based sniffer.
